The detainees including Dr. Merera Gudina will benefit from the pardon the government granted within two months after their cases evaluated by an apology committee, Government Communication Affairs Office Head, Dr. Negeri Lencho told a press conference Today.
The government dropped charges against 528 suspects as per the pledge it made to the public, he said.
The head said that the peace and stability of the country has improved over the last two weeks.
The government is working to rehabilitate the 86 thousand ethnic Oromo displaced by the conflict flared between Oromia and Ethio-Somlia region of Ethiopia, the head added.
The head also said that the government has so far spent 900 mln birr to support the displaced people.
